Colony is a community of independent furniture, lighting, textile, and object designers coming together on a New York City stage to celebrate American design with an international audience.
The designer's co-op was founded in 2014 by Jean Lin, formerly trained as a fashion designer with professional experiences as a designer, editor, trend forecaster, educator, and curator. Lin serves on the Female Design Council board, teaches at her alma mater, Parsons School of Design, and has served as a guest lecturer and critic at Rhode Island School of Design, Pratt Institute and Tama Art University in Tokyo.
